Based on the 2019 NAEP scores, only 26% of Louisiana’s fourth-graders were considered proficient readers. The evidence is clear that everyone can learn to read through a structured literacy approach based in the science of reading.

DeJunne’ Clark Jackson and Alana Mangham will lead the discussion about the science of reading with evidence-based reading instruction, structured literacy, and the importance of these foundational practices in dyslexia identification with struggling readers.
